Favourite Songs - Completed Albums

This is for the list of songs that we already have. Eventually, all the songs in our list will be here :)
We selected a few of our favourite songs and I sent the CDs to him earlier this year on his birthday.

1 - Main tumhi se poochti hoon mujhe tumse - Not sure THANKS DJ!

2 - Hai duniya usiki zamana usika - Kashmir Ki Kali

3 - Jo main jaanti unke liye - Aah

Yeh gaana mujhe bahot pasand. When I heard this one for the first time, I couldnt believe Lata Mangeshkar had sung this one. She was very young at that time, but she has sung this very beautifully , nice playful song. Reminiscing of kaise piya se kahoon.....for the piya.

4 - Tere bina zindagi se koi - Aandhi

5 - Tum aa gaye ho, noor aa gaya hai - Aandhi

6 - Is mod se jaate hai - Aandhi

7 - Asmaan ke neeche, hum aaj apne peeche pyar ka jahan..... - Jewel Thief

Jewel Thief had really good songs overall. This one was picked by him as well. My favourite from JT is Hotho main aisi baat. But love this one as well.

8 - Na tum hume jaano, na hum tumhe jaane - Baat Ek Raat Ki

9 - Pucho naa yaar kya hua, dil ka karaar kya hua - Zamaane Ko Dikhana Hai

This one is a very peppy number. I am sure a lot of people love this song. We do too. Lets see if I can find it.

10 - Dard-e-dil dard-e- jigar dil main jagaya aapne - Karz

......pehle toh main shayar thaa, aashiq banaya aapne.....

11 - Saathiya tune kya kiya - Love

Both of us really wanted this song, but we could not find it for a very very long time. Finally, I found it and now it is on! :)

12 - Tujhe dekha toh yeh jaana sanam - Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge

How can I leave this one out? DDLJ is my favourite movie of all times. The simple love story so very well presented also has some uncanny resemblances to our love story, except the locations are switched. I can go on and on about how much I love the movie and this song in particular. This is one song from the nineties that lovebirds are gonna be singing forever. When I mentioned this song to him he said, " arre, this one HAS to be there." I concur.

13 - Mujhe raat din bas - Sangharsh

The music of Sangharsh was pretty good. I loved the song dil ka qaraar loot gaya, but that shall be put in the Jhagda category. :)

14 - Pehli Pehli baar baliye - Sangharsh

I know I know, this was supposed to be in the Jhagda category, but I figured since I was adding one song of Sangharsh, why not pair em up eh? Right? :)

15 - Agar main kahoon mujhe tumse mohabbat hai - Lakshya

This one is for him! He loves this song and when it first came out, he used to listen to this one all the time. Its not because of the music or the composition but he loves this for the words. He loves the playfulness in this song and just the ched-chaad in the song. And also the fact that everytime he says something romantic, I brush it off and say he should do it a better way :D

16 - Kaise piya se main kahun mujhe kitna pyaar hai - Bewafaa

AAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHH! I love this song! No points for guessing why, when, who et al! It HAS to absolutely go on my list. My list will be incomplete without this one. The song, the composition, and above all Lata Mangeshkar. I think this song is flawless. The playfulness, the love, the feelings and sentiments in this song are too good. Ever since I have heard this one, I have been humming it everyday! One of my favourites. A perfect fit too!

Our CD - 3

1 - Tera mera pyaar amar, fir kyun mujhko lagta hai darr - Asli Naqli

My choice :D. This song is great, period.

2 - Jo vaada kiya woh nibhana padega - Taj Mahal

3 - Dheere dheere chal chaand gagan main - Love Marriage

4 - Tumko dekha toh yeh khayal aaya - Saath Saath

Timeless classic. Had to be there.

5 - Yeh tera ghar yeh mera ghar - Saath Saath

Now, we do not have a ghar together right now, but we both love this song and hopefully one day will be dancing to this in our own ghar.

6 - Ehsaan tera hoga mujhpar dil chahta hai woh kehne do..... - Junglee Thanks RHICHA

Yeh waala gaana bahot acha hai. Again, his choice. He musta sung this song when he really wanted me to say yes :P

7 - Isharon isharon main dil lene waale - Kashmir Ki Kali

This song is very close to both of our hearts. It is a question both of us ask each other ;)

8 - Mere pyaar ki umar ho itni sanam - Waaris Thanks DEEPAK!

I was introduced to this song through Rhicha's blog once. So in my excitement of knowing one old song that I love, I rush and call him and say oooh, I love this song. Turns out he already knew and started singing it. Aaah I can never win when it comes to songs. Beautiful romantic number.

9 - Dil tera deewana hai sanam - Dil Tera Deewana Thanks DEEPAK!

10 - Mujhe kitna pyaar hai tumse, apne hi dil se poocho tum - Dil Tera Deewana

A timeless Lata and Rafi classic. A perfect song for two love birds who like Lata and Rafi....a few lines from the song that I love... "Yeh duniya kaise badli, kuch bhi samajh naa aaye, kyu hue woh apne jo kal tak the paraaye......" and this next line is just fabulous...."dil ki lagan ho sachi fir kyu na rang laaye, mere the tum sada se, par ab kareeb aaye..." aaye haaye! Both of us just absolutely love this one.

11 - Gaata rahe mera dil, tuhi meri manzil - Guide

This one is his FAVOURITE song of all times. He gets goosebumps everytime he hears this one. If he had his way, this song would be in EVERY album about 10 times over. Yes, he is that crazy about this song, knows the whole song, and just loves it. Personally, I too love this song. It is one song that we all know and we all sing when we get "ga" in antakshari :) So ofcourse this HAD to be on our list. Gaate rahe mera dil...tuhi meri manzil .haaye kahi beete naa raatien, kahi beete naa yeh din...gaata rahe mera dil.................. Its a song list aur gaane ki baat hoti hai toh yeh geet kaise na ho?

12 - O saathi re (male) - Muqaddar ka Sikandar


13 - Yeh kahan aa gaye hum - Silsila

He called me today and said ..yeh gaana toh add hi nahi kiya list main...and we do have this song in our cassette but not on CD. (now we do. Thanks so much POONAM for introducing us to Ares Lite..got quite a few songs from there and still looking.:) ) There is not even a question why this song should not be there in our list. BEAUTIFUL.

14 - Dekha ek khwab toh yeh silsile hue - Silsila

This one is another beautiful song from Silsila. Jab silsila ka naam aaya toh title track kaise bhool jaaye?

15 - Aye mere humsafar ek zara intezaar - Qayamat Se Qayamat Tak

Beautiful number, suits the current situation to the T.

16 - Tere mere hontho pe meethe meethe geet mitwa - Chandni

I love all the songs of Chandni and was confused which one would be the best one to put in this album. He suggested this one....and here it is.

Album 1

1 - Aye meri zindagi tu mere paas hai - Saaya

He loves this song. I did not even know about this one until he told me about it. It has both a male and a female version and I, too, have fallen in love with this one.


2 - Dil deewana bin sajna ke maane naa - Maine Pyaar Kiya

Well, I have been a fan of this song for a long long time. But now it has all the more meaning, especially when the sajna is so far away.


3 - Meri duniya main aake mat jao - Tum Bin

Both of us like this one. Yes yes, it is a little on the melancholic side, but we identified to this song when we were going through very hard times so included this one too.

4 - Tere mere sapne ab ek rang ke - Guide

I have always been a fan of this song, but all the more when he mentioned it to me and sang it for me. Now the deal is that I have coaxed him into agreeing to sing this song the day we get married. He said he will be more than happy to do it! Dekhte hai janaab kaise gaate hai :)

5 - Zeehale muskin ....sunai deti hai jiski dhadkan tumhaara dil ya hamaara dil hai - Ghulami

Again, a song I was re-introduced by him. He absolutely loves this one. Gulzarsaab ka lyrics aur latadi ki singing! It is awesome. You just have to listen to the wonderful lyrics of this song to realize how good it is! Perfect love song :)

6 - Pyaar kiya toh darna kya - Mughal-e-Azam


Haha, ab main kya kahoon. Have heard this song since I was a kid. Always thought ke jab pyar karungi toh darungi nahi. But the truth is that darna padta hai...haha. So this song is there for the continuous inspiration. kabhi naa kabhi woh jo thoda sa darr bacha hai chala jaaeyga...aur darr sirf mom dad se lagta hai :P

7 - Kismat se tum humko mile ho kaise chodenge - Pukar

Now this song has an out of the world feeling to it and the lyrics of this song is what got to me. The words conveyed my feelings exactly and I had to add this one.

8 - Tumse milke aisa laga tumse milke .. - Parinda

The lyrics of this song says it all. A song both of us would sing for each other anyday.

9 - Bin tere sanam mar mitenge hum aa meri zindagi - Yaara Dildara

This one is another one for the love birds, especially when they are far apart. "aaana hi pada sajna, zaalim hai dilki lagi" Its true!

10 - Kya jaanu sajan hoti hai kya gham ki shaam - Dil Vil Pyar Vyar

Although the original is much better, we decided to keep this one in our album. Again for the lyrics.

11 - Tu tu hai wahi dil ne jise apna kaha - Yeh Vaada Raha

We have the original one for this one. Not the remix!! My favourite lines from this song are "kisi mod par pade mushkile toh, mujhe tu sambhaale..tujhe main sambhaalu" Aisa hi hona chaahiye naa?

12 - Tum mile, dil khile - Criminal

Self-explanatory :)

13 - Kya yahi pyaar hai - Rocky

This one was his addition! He loves this one and insisted that we have it in the album :)

Album 2

1 - Socho ke jheelon ka shaher ho - Mission Kashmir

This song is all about what two love-birds dream of. It is a song that is close to both our hearts. Socho ke jheelon ka shaher ho, lehron pe apna ek ghar ho, hum jo dekhe sapne saare, sach ho, sach ho...bas aur kya. **touch wood**

2 - Ek duje ke vaaste - Dil To Pagal Hai

Now it wouldnt be right if we didnt believe we were made for each other..would it?

3 - Dil kya kare jab kisise kisi ko pyaar ho jaaye - Julie

He likes the original one and also did sing it for me once. He has to be in the right mood, fir toh gaane par gaana. So this one is for him! "daud raha hai saath lahoon ke pyaar tera nas nas main....na kuch tere bas main julie naa kuch mere bas main" Great number!

4 - Aapki nazron ne samjha pyaar ke kaabil mujhe - Anpadh

This song is beautiful in every single way. The composition, lyrics, vocals, feel..all of it! This one is from me to him.

5 - Jab koi baat bigad jaaye,jab koi mushkil pad jaaye - Jurm

I am sure, everyone who has fallen in love has at one point or the other said what this song conveys to their significant other. My favourite lines : "Ho chandni jab tak raat deta hai har koi saath, tum magar andhero main naa chodnaa mera haath"
Both of us agreed our albums would be incomplete without this one.

6 - Tum bin jaau kahan - Dil Vil Pyaar Vyaar

Again, the original by Kishoreda is much better, but he wanted to keep this one. He loves this one and I agree that it is an awesome song. Besides him saying to me "tum bin jaau kaha" is always good ;)

7 - Waada raha pyaar se pyaar ka - Khakee

This song has good lyrics and I liked it a lot. Although, just today he said that this one had grown old, that it wasnt eternal and although its a good song, one can get tired of listening to this one but not the others. Aaah the old song lover!

8 - Jiya bekaraar hai, humko tumse pyaar hai..aaja more baalma tera intezaar hai - Barsaat

haha no points for guessing, this was selected by me. Mera jiya kitna bekaraar hai main hi jaanu

9 - Mujhko khuda ne de diya saath tera jo saathiya - Pyaar Tune Kya Kiya

This one is one of the few new songs that he likes and wants in our album. I acutally made him like it! But really, it is a good song.

10 - Deewano ko pata hai yeh ishk toh nasha hai - Kehta Hai Dil Baar Baar

I liked this one..coz of the lyrics. Its a simple hummable romantic song

11 - Chaand mera dil, chandni ho tum, chand se hai door chandni kaha - Karz?

This one ofcourse selected by him, coz ofcourse I am his chandni;) His favourite lines from this one:"waise toh har kadam milenge log sanam, milega sacha pyaar mushkil se..." Hinting at me like that!

12 - Tum bin jiya jaaye kaise,..kaise jiya jaaye tum bin - Tum Bin

This one needs no explanation. It is a very good song, fits perfectly, especially during this tanhai period.
